Border Buddy Saturday - Pansy Petals & Bumblebees

It' is Border Buddy Saturday and time to share another card featured in our monthly Border Buddy PDF Tutorial.  This month we are featuring the Pansy Petals Suite of products.  We each create 4 cards using products from the suite for the monthly PDF.

This is one of the cards I created for this month's PDF.  I choose to use the Soft Succulent gingham paper from the Pansy Petal Designer Series Paper.  The pansies are a Photopolymer Two-Step Stampin’ set that allows you to layer two or more images to create one final image with extra texture and dimension in the colors you want. They are clear so it is super easy to line them up.  There is no end to the color combinations you can create the pansies in.

Just in CASE Pattern Party Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up!®

It is Border Buddy Thursday Just in CASE series, Patsy here this week.  My Border Buddy Alison Solven from Canada and I take turns creating a card that we CASE (copy and selectively edit) from a current Stampin’ Up! catalog.  We like to show you how you can use the paper crafting projects in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog to inspire you!  

Today's card features my favorite Stampin' Up! red, Poppy Parade Cardstock and Classic Ink.  Poppy Parade will make a colorful impression.  It is one of  Stampin' Up! signature ink pads.  Our Classic Stampin’ Pads contain a fast drying, dye-based ink that is great for general stamping or for coloring techniques.  I paired the Poppy Parade with the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper which coordinates with it. 

The pads come in 48 exclusive Stampin' Up! colors from our four color groups (Brights, Neutrals, Regals, and Subtles).  Many of the other products come in the same exclusive colors taking the guesswork out of color coordination.  The innovative ink pad design has a patented flip-top lid to keep the stamp pad inked during storage. The firm foam pads outlast felt pads and give you a superior stamping experience.  

I often get asked why my stamped images are so clear and I can contribute that to the Stampin' Up! Classic Ink Pads.  I always recommend buying the in refill at the time of purchase so you can keep them inked up for great results. 

When you CASE, you can copy it exactly, or selectively edit it by changing the colors or the stamp set or both.  Today I changed the Just Jade Color, Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper,  Encircled in Beauty Dies and the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.  The layout and Meadow Moments Embossing Folder are the same.    

The sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped in Poppy Parade Classic Ink  on Whisper White and cut out with the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the Ornate Frames Die.  I added the Opal Rounds as my embellishment to finish off the card.

Sunday Sketches Pansy Petals Suite Collection

It is Sunday Sketch time, Alison Solven from Canada here today.

Each Sunday Patsy Waggoner from the US (my border buddy) and I take turns creating a card using one of our card sketches.  Sketches can help get your creative juices flowing. I find that when I'm stuck and seem to have lost my stampin' mojo a sketch can give me the spark I need.  They are open to interpretation, no real right or wrong way.

I cut the Pansy flowers and leaves from the Pansy Petals 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper with the Pansy Dies. I love how the dies cut out the stamped images and also the flower and leaf images from the paper.



I wanted some added dimension so I cut out two of the pansies and then cut the large area from one and popped it up on the full flower with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Border Buddy Saturday Pansy Petal Suite Collection

It's Border Buddy Saturday when Patsy Waggoner (US)  and I (Alison Solven) share a card made using products in our selected suite for the month.   This month we selected the Pansy Petal Suite.  We each created 4 cards using products from the suite for the monthly PDF. 

Pansy's are such pretty and bright flowers in any garden. I love how they look like they have little faces. Do you see that when you look at a pansy? Today's card is one of 8 featured in our monthly PDF. It features the Pansy Petal 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.

TIPS: Create a distressed edge on paper using the open edge of your Paper Snips. Hold the paper near the edge and carefully rub the sharp edge of the open Paper Snips perpendicular to the paper edge using short strokes towards you. The Paper Snips create a roughed up edge that adds a nice rustic, vintage touch.

Just in Case Hand-Penned Suite

Each Thursday my Border Buddy Patsy Waggoner and I (Alison Solven from Canada) take turns creating a card that we CASED from a current Stampin’ Up! catalogue. CASE stands for (Copy And Selectively Edit).   We like to show you how you can use the paper crafting projects in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue to inspire you and jumpstart your mojo!

I based my card on a sample from page 28 of 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue that featured the Pansy Petals Suite

Sunday Sketches - Pansy Petal Birthday Card

It's Sunday and time for another card sketch to get your mojo going. Each week Alison and I take turns sharing a sketch and a card we created from the sketch. 

Today's post is featuring a hand stamped Birthday card created using the Pansy Petal Suite by Stampin' Up!  Yesterday I shared which paper the pansy and leaves were cut out from using the coordinating Pansy Dies.  

Suites are designed with coordinating items that work together.   One stamper said it is like a travel agent for stamping taking all the guess work out.  Some people like to plan their own trips and others love to have someone put it all together.  If you like someone else to do the planning be sure and check out the suites.  You can order an entire suite with one simple number. 

Today's Sketch

My Card

Today's card is an exact outlay of the sketch without changing it up.  The gingham Fresh Freesia background is paper from the Pansy Petal 12" X 12"  Designer Series Paper. * The package as 12 sheets of patterned paper: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs
and is acid free and lignin free so totally safe for scrapbooking. 

I am in love with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folders you get two folders in each package.  I am sure you have noticed the past month I have used the butterfly and flower one often.  These folders can be used in most die cutting machine but my preference is the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Mini or Regular.  

I have added some of the Fresh Freesia 2021-2023 In Color Jewels for that final touch.  You all know how much I love to finish off a card with a little wow, just makes me smile.

Border Buddy Saturday - Pansy Petals Suite by Stampin’ Up!®

It's Border Buddy Saturday were Alison and I share a card made using products in our selected suite for the month.   This month we selected the Pansy Petal Suite.  We each created 4 cards using products from the suite for the monthly PDF.

It is always hard to pick which card from the PDF to share.  I choose today's card as it is such a fun and easy card and it has a real wow factor.  The only stamping on the card is the sentiment which I embossed in white on Evening Evergreen paper.  

The pansies are cut out using the coordinating Pansy Die.  You can choose any colors you like.  The polka dot background on the card is the opposite side of the pansy paper. 

The Pansy Die set also has leaf dies to cut out the leaves on this piece.  I cut out two of the Soft Succulent leaves and one Evening Evergreen.   When adding leaves or embellishments remember odd numbers are always better in artistic composition.

Also note the fun little gold Bumblebee Trinket Embellishment, a fun way to finish off the card.

Just in CASE Pierced Blooms Dies by Stampin' Up!

Hello Stampers it is Just in CASE Thursday, Patsy here this week.

Time is soon coming to an end for the Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalog.  What a catalog it has been, every few weeks I would see something new I had to have! It was a real test to my will power which I failed LOL.   

I wanted to share one more CASE from the mini featuring the Pierced Blooms Dies.  These dies are carried over to the new catalog and even after they retire I will keep them in my personal stamping collection. I love the stitching on the finished flowers and leaves.  Who can resist the cut out bow which adds a great finishing touch and so easy to mail flat without extra postage.  

While the mini will retire the end of the month you can keep it around for the samples to CASE (copy and selectively edit).  That is one of the reasons Alison and I share a CASE card every Thursday is to show you how we CASE cards. Today's CASE is almost and exact CASE except for color choice. 

I added several Genial Gems to the card to add a little more wow.  The genial Gems come in Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya but can blend with many other Stampin' Up! Colors so don't limit yourself. 

Texture is so important in card making and the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, which I used here, is the perfect folder for almost any card.  

Today's color palette which I think is so fun and fresh is...

• Pale Papaya
• Fresh Freesia
• Polished Pink
• Soft Succulent
• Evening Evergreen
• Basic White. 

The sentiment came from the Art Galley Stamp Set that is also being carried over from the mini catalog.   I cut out the words with the Messages Dies which is one large die that cuts out many different sized tags be sure and check it out.
